Project 3 Week 3 - First Draft This week I started developing my first draft for the school using the sections I created. However, I have yet to want to do yet. Hence, I just played around with the section in SketchUp for a bit. This draft uses the whole section I selected to attempt to create a building. However, as i started to put int a 'skin', an exterior for the building, it all started to go wrong and the end result of the design looks like a chicken head in SketchUp.

Project 3 Week 3 - The Plan I have chosen Zaha Hadid's Vitra fire station plan started developing different sections for the school. The first section I developed is a simple outline of some of the major part of the building. The second section is also done by tracing the outline of the building. However, this time I used some colour to indicate how spaces are allocated. For the third section, I started playing around with different small parts of the section by multiplying them and transforming them. The last section I developed is of a different approach comparing to the others. I created it by tracing out the shadow of the building from the site plan and ended up with a vary interesting shape. I ended up settling with this section and began developing my first SketchUp draft which will be discussed in the next post.
Project 3 Week 2 - Moving Element This week I have attempted to create an adjustable facade as a moving element in the architectural school. The shape and form might not be the same as the final product but this is just a simple demonstration of the idea. The facade will provide shading for area such as the lecture theater when needed while still allowing access to natural lighting.

Project 3 Week 2 - Two-Points Perspective I have selected two of the one-point perspective created from last week and drew them again in two-point perspectives. Note that all four two-point perspectives are drawn using the same two vanishing point, making them 'exists' in the same plane.
Project 3 Week 1 - Architecture Theory "The exploration of discarded ideas in architecture as a reflection on current designs and act as an inspiration for better designs in the future." This is the theory that I generated during the first week after seeing an article form ArchDaily: Alternative Realities: 7 Radical Buildings That Could-Have-Been https://www.archdaily.com/773828/alternative-realities-7-of-the-most-radical-could-have-been-buildings/?ad_source=myarchdaily&ad_medium=bookmark-show&ad_content=current-user _________________________________________________________________________________ Later on in the project development, I came across another article about Daniel Libeskind by ArchDaily which focused on his style and work. https://www.archdaily.com/505040/happy-birthday-daniel-libeskind From the reading, I noticed a few key words: Angular, Intersecting, Diagonally-sliced  From that, I generated another theory that would better su...

Project 3 Week 1 - 6 Sets of One-Point Perspective This week I have created 6 different shapes each formed by 5-6 rectangular cubes. They aim to simulate the circulation of the architectural school.

Project 2 Week 3 - Light Rail Stop Final Design After some final adjustment based on my tutor's feedback as well as putting in additional details and textures, I have completed my light rail stop design. I will first showcase some of the SketchUp capture and finally the Luminion renders. SketchUp Captures Here is an overview of the light rail station. There is an escalator that leads up to the platform as well as a cafe and a coffee shops to act as extra leisure space for UNSW students. Note that on the space above the platform contains a bar which provides a splendid view of the Uni Mall and the campus. On the other side of the road, there is a set of stairs and a lift that provide access to the main platform and the sky bar. There is also a walkway across the rails that allow access to both side. I have chosen to add my 3 custom textures to this monumental light rail sign as I think it is a very significant part of my design which utilised the irregular appearance simi...
